Another first for DOGTAG
Announcing Dogtag NFC
The hot topic right now is NFC, or Near Field Communication to
give it its full name. It's the new cash and there's a whole lot
more goodies coming on stream like e-ticketing, secure ID systems
and access control.
Some people are already making small payments with NFC-enabled
cards and mobile phones and the readers are rapidly increasing in
number in cafes, supermarkets and fast food joints. Soon they
will be everywhere and making small payments by "tap and go" will
be the norm. It really is good-bye loose change.
Over a year ago we partnered with the world's largest credit
card manufacturer to produce Dogtag NFC and we are now in
production so that major banks can test them ready for the
market.
Watch this space
These are very fast-moving, exciting times and you can look
forward to your future dogtags being almost as smart as you. Just
think - one dogtag that will be your proof of insurance, your ID,
your cache for important docs, your tickets and your cash. It's not
going to happen tomorrow but it is going to happen very fast so
watch this space.
